Hi, Tinny. You do realize that tea has tanic acid? The amount of acorns needed to poison you is way more then would fit into your coffee cup, and water over 150 degrees will peal the skin off your mouth. Just a thought. I love your videos. Keep up the great work.

Tinny, have you monitored the cool down rate in fully insulated heiny pot?

You can make a kind of coffee from acorns. . . . many links on the web for this but cant see it`s gonna taste too good. . . .

I have to say I agree with you! I have an old tin percolator I use every morning for coffee. It tastes better then out of a Mr. Coffee.

This is a very good thing here you’ve done as it points out the fact that using an inverter to make coffee out camping with the van & using water from the creek may not be a great idea. I let my coffee boil a bit & seems great but all coffee in bush is. I envy a place can grow their own & worry of the day without arg. I tried roasting chickory uck. No life without coffee would suck butt.

Percolators use water that is boiling, and they make some of the best coffee going. . . . Peace.

If you roast and grind the old brown acorns a few times it reduces the amount of tanin in the acorns which supposedly makes a nice cup of coffee but I think that’s a bit to much work out on the trail and the same technique applies to the dandelion roots. There are a few videos about acorn coffee here on youtube!!!
    Well done 5/5

Whats wrong with a premium instant coffee. I know it is 3 to 5 times normal instant but it is a bees dick from the quality of brewed coffee.

Okay, that makes a little more sense. I couldn’t figure out they could be that far off. Mine was the first cup too. (I didn’t install a coffee packet, just ran the water through) Can’t replicate the cold wall, it’s a nice warm 68 degree’s in my house.

  11. minibulldesign says:

Actually it was 185 so it is only 11 deg and it was the first cup from a coffee maker setting against a cold wall

I like Warm Hot Choffee. Hot Chocolate & Coffee, I just don’t have the taste for pure coffee.

    Hey tinny,

Have a warm cup of coffee. great video on the coffee temps. . . I still prefer tea.

There are reusable drawstring bags at health food stores that can be filled with your prefered amount/brand of coffee and used for your purposes. they keep the grounds secure and can be rinsed and reused. If you are, or know, someone who sews, you can make your own out of light weight cotton cloth and cotton string.

My Senseo kicks out 196 degree water on my Poulder thermometer. Yours is running 20 degrees cooler? Interesting. . .
